I created this scene in 2000. In my garden in Oyster Bay, NY - we frequently had at least one praying mantis in the garden. I loved to have tea in the mid-afternoon in my garden with the various curious fellows who would drop by to visit.

In 1989, my wish became reality by following my heart to work for a company that published scientific magazines, journals, and books, American Institute of Physics, AIP, on Long Island, New York. I learned the business from the ground up. Years later with digital art becoming the main-stay, and laptop computers being the workstations, I took a children's book publishing class to become a self-publisher.
