Description

This Blue Heron stood about five feet away from me while I admired its majestic stature in 4-22-2002. I was standing on the bank and this bird stood so still that it did not seem real, all the while it's eye watched me intently. It was about 4-1/2 feet tall with feathers that were layered like fish scales in an intricate pattern along it's body.
