While living in New York, some swans took over a couple of the docks that were low to the water and created a haven for their young. Year after year the swans came back to nest at our ship yard. I created this scene as a more ideal place for a nest.

In 1989, my wish became reality by following my heart to work for a company that published scientific magazines, journals, and books, American Institute of Physics, AIP, on Long Island, New York. I learned the business from the ground up. Years later with digital art becoming the main-stay, and laptop computers being the workstations, I took a children's book publishing class to become a self-publisher.
